Together For Yes – what it means for the  Trade Union Campaign to Repeal the 8th

TOGETHER FOR YES

As you probably know, Together for Yes, the national civil society campaign for a YES vote in May’s referendum, launched last Thursday, March 22. The launch was impressive; the response very enthusiastic! We’re on our way!

Together for Yes will be led by three component organisations:  the Abortion Rights Campaign, the Coalition to Repeal the 8th and the National Women’s Council of Ireland.  It will be run by three co-directors: Grainne Griffin, Ailbhe Smyth and Orla O’Connor, representing ARC, the coalition and NWCI respectively.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN FOR US?

  • We’ll be supporting Together for Yes and will continue to operate as the Trade Union Campaign to Repeal the 8th with our slogan, Yes Repeal.
  • We hope to work with Together for Yes on a number of projects.
  • We want to use the T4Y logo / slogans and they will use ours.
  • Along with our own material, we’ll be using Together for Yes leaflets, posters as they become available.
  • We will support the national Together for Yes organisation and it will support us so that the national Yes Repeal campaign is united, has a strong message and runs as effectively as possible.
